There will be a Peak One (Saturday September 21 8:30-10:30) and Peak Two (Saturday September 21 10:45-4:45) at Grace Community Church, 2400 Pump Rd, Henrico, VA.
Peak One. This is an introduction to Trail Life USA. It is good for all new troop leaders and prospective troop sponsors. Peak covers the following:
- Trail Life history
- What makes Trail Life unique and important
- Trail Life distinctives
- The structure of the organization
- Youth Protection Essentials
- The Levels of Support
- The importance of annual planning
- The program and meeting structure
There is no charge to attend Peak One. We will include breakfast snack, lanyard & course materials. Wear your uniform or parts thereof, if you have them, but they are not required.
Peak Two. Serves as an overview to troop operations. It is good for all new troop leaders and prospective leaders. Peak Two covers the following:
- The patrol method and how it works
- Ceremonies
- Advancement
- Annual Plan
- Budgeting and fundraising
- Officer’s Conference
- Training youth leaders
- How to plan and run a successful Troop meeting
- Different ideas for service projects
- How to plan for and prepare for overnight camping
- Trail Life Connect
There is no charge for Peak Two. We will provide a Participant Handbook, lanyard, and lunch and a Three Peaks Pin for your lanyard. Again wear any/all of a Trail Life Uniform that you have, but none is required.
